Mr Simone is currently employed at the Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, a famous University in Rome. Here, in addition to his surgical activities, he is involved with teaching programmes, actively participating in research projects and the production of publications in internationally recognised medical journals.
Mr Pierfranco Simone is a consultant Plastic Surgeon, specialising in Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery. He trained at the prestigious Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy.
He spent long periods of time in the UK, where he gained expertise in state-of-the-art cosmetic surgery. The evolution of his proficiency in body contouring, has led him to the application of these techniques to the most challenging cases, such as ex-obese patients (post-bariatric). In fact, Mr Simone has developed a special interest in the treatment of body deformities caused by massive weight loss. These conditions cause functional limitations as well as cosmetic impairment and, since many areas of the body are involved, a wide spectrum of specific surgical techniques are required for their correction.
One of Dr.Simone's specific fields of interest is in fact the treatment of deformities that arise after significant weight loss. These conditions involve mainly functional limitations associated with aesthetic damage and, since they involve multiple body areas, require the use of a wide spectrum of surgical techniques for their correction.
The most common cosmetic surgery procedures include: face and eyebrow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, otoplasty.
The naturalness of the result is essential and therefore it is essential not to overdo the correction, always based on criteria of proportion, harmony and symmetry.
In particular, attention is focused on procedures with short scars and under local or loco-regional anesthesia, favoring minimally invasive techniques with reduced risk of complications and rapid recovery times.
Head of the new Post Bariatric Plastic Surgery Center at the Biomedical Campus in Rome
Member of the Italian Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SICPRE)
Member of the Italian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (AICPE)
Mr Simone enhanced his competence studying skin cancer in 1999 at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, UK. Since then he’s been actively involved with the early diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, gaining particular expertise in dermoscopy, allowing accurate microscopic evaluation of skin lesions and their excision margins before surgery.
Currently Dr. Simone is medical director at the Campus Bio-Medico University Polyclinic of Rome, where, in addition to carrying out surgical activities, he dedicates himself to teaching and scientific research, in an international academic context.
